An Easter Tale ... even more ... |
| They finally made it to Emmaus and the fella invited them to the first hot bread shop they came to and offered to shout them to a feed. Our intrepid travellers weren't ones to knock back a freebe so they joined him at the tables outside the shop.
Bread and a drink together is a pretty simple meal I suppose, but it was a good feed for those backpackers, because they had run out of dough. He broke his loaf in half and said a prayer over his tucker and they suddenly recognised who he was. It was Jesus. The fella that had walked with them on the road and was in front of their very eyes was the Main Man himself. They were completely blown away. Now prepare yourself for the real spin out. Are you sitting down? Within an instant he was gone, just as they were just about to fall on their knees and kiss his feet. He had vanished from the table and completely gone.
Now is the time to draw in and listen carefully. Is this tale true? Was it Jesus that had walked with them on the road? Had he risen from the dead?
